The Vanuatu Immigration Services (VIS) has announced that the Passport Office will be closed from the 17th -23rd July 2019.
The planned office closure is to cater for an upgrade to the Vanuatu Passport.
From July 17- 23 staff members will be working on submissions lodged before the date of closure and will take in new passport applications after the 23rd July.
Technicians will work to upgrade the Vanuatu passports validity for a longer lifespan and will feature upgraded security features. The upgraded Vanuatu Passports will have a 10-year validity lifespan.
According to VIS Director Jeffery Markson, submissions have been made to the State Law Office (SLO) for new passport rates and the Minister of Internal Affairs will formally announce the rates upon SLO endorsement.
