Vanuatu launches first overseas Passport Enrollment Station in Hong Kong (09/12/2024)
Vanuatu's first overseas passport enrollment station for printing new electronic passports has been launched in Hong Kong. Vanuatu citizens living abroad can now upgrade to the new electronic passports by visiting the Consulate General office in Hong Kong. The office is staffed by a Vanuatu Immigration officer dedicated to assisting citizens with passport printing.

Vanuatu is honored again and ranks the 1st in the global Happy Planet Index (HPI)
The new HPI rankings were revealed to compare how well nations are creating human wellbeing using their limited environmental resources.
Vanuatu claimed the top spot, as revealed in the data analysis conducted and produced by the New Economics Foundation (NEF).
This index rates countries based on their overall well-being and environmental sustainability, marking a significant departure from traditional economic metrics.
The HPI turns the old world order on its head by highlighting how rich Western nations are often inefficient at creating wellbeing for their people. Vanuatu has again been ranked in first place for the second time due to its respect-driven cultural values and practices and its commitment to environmental protection and climate action.
PRG Consulting Limited as the sole agent of the Permanent Residence Visa Program in the Greater China region (07/07/2023)
To eliminate the ambiguity in the market of the PR program, the Minister of Internal Affairs has issued an Order on 7 July 2023 that PRG Consulting Limited as the sole agent of the Permanent Residence Visa Program in the Greater China region (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). All PR visa application from Great China Regions including China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan would only be processed by PRG Consulting Limited.

The Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Hon Ishmael Kalsakau invited the representatives of PRG Group which included the CEO, Mr. Timothy Cheung and the Operations Director, Mr. Jimmy Ng, to meet at the Vanuatu Consulate General in Hong Kong on June 2, 2023.
EU Allows 18 Months’ Extension (01/02/2023)
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/693 will be expired on 3 February 2023. EU has given a further 18 months’ extension. The temporary suspension of the visa exemption for nationals of Vanuatu will be extented from 4 February 2023 to 3 August 2024.
The second letter of appreciation from Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu after March 2021 (22/09/2022)
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu is appreciated that PRG Group of the impressive performance in promoting the Vanuatu PR visa program. To eliminate the ambiguity in the market and ensure the sustainability of the PR program, the Deputy Prime Minister has issued an Order on 30 August 2022 that all PR visa application from Great China Regions including China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan would only be processed by PRG Consulting Limited. The Government of the Republic of Vanuatu stands ready to render all assistance to support PRG Group.
All application for Permanent Residence Visa from Greater China must be processed by PRG (09/09/2022)
According to the Immigration Visa Regulation (Amendment) Order No. 142 of 2022, all application for Permanent Residence Visa from Greater China including China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan must be processed by PRG Consulting Limited. Application from Greater China will not be accepted by The Vanuatu Immigration Services if the application is not processed by PRG.
The partial suspension of the application of the Agreement between the EU and Vanuatu on the short-stay visa waiver (07/03/2022)
According to the Council Decision (EU) 2022/366, the partial suspension of the application of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Vanuatu on the short-stay visa waiver is suspended from 4 May 2022 as regards citizens of Vanuatu who granted the citizenship via investment citizenship schemes after 25 May 2015.
Public Health Emergency Declared (14/02/2022)
The Public Health Emergency is declared and valid till July 31, 2022.
The State of Emergency (SOE) period has been extended for one month (30/12/2021)
The extension is attributed to the continuous global existence of COVID-19, and it is declared throughout Vanuatu. It commences on January 1 and ceases to have effect on January 31, 2022.
State of Emergency Extension (15/07/2021)
The extension period will begin from August 1 to December 31 this year and shall be extended. The extension will be applied over the whole of Vanuatu for strengthening international border control prevention measures and infection prevention and control standards in response to the COVID-19 epidemic.
